Discussion –

PRICE ACTION:
Equity prices, as measured by ticker SPY, closed higher on the week, while bond prices, as measured by ticker BND, ticked slightly lower.

TECHNICAL ANALYSIS:
SPY price action suggests near-term consolidation with the possibility of a transition to an upward trend over the near term.

BND price held mostly flat during the past week suggesting the recent increase in price may give way to consolidation. BND is still considered in a downward trend.

SENTIMENT:
Market participant sentiment suggests short-term optimism.

ECONOMY AND FUNDAMENTALS:
Economic indicators within the Market Notebook remain mixed.

Jobless claims are to be watched as an important indicator of a potential recession. Thus far, jobless claims are not indicative of a near-term recession.

Periods of relatively higher interest rates translate into slower economic activity over time. The current rate environment continues to act slowly to restrain activity.

All the best during the coming week!
