Market Notebook

Discussion –

PRICE ACTION:
Equity prices, as measured by ticker SPY, and bond prices, as measured by ticker BND, closed higher on the week.

TECHNICAL ANALYSIS:
Both SPY and BND might be considered in an upward trend.

SENTIMENT:
Sentiment is swiftly changing towards “risk on” with market participants appearing to believe that U.S. equities have begun a new long-term cycle higher.

ECONOMY AND FUNDAMENTALS:
Inflation data suggests that inflation remains sticky. Inflationary data could easily be market-moving over the next several weeks.

Economic indicators within the Market Notebook remain mixed.

Jobless claims are to be watched as an important indicator of a potential recession. Thus far, jobless claims are not indicative of a near-term recession.

All the best during the week ahead!
