After a volatile week both equities and the bond complex generally, remain range-bound.

The Conference Board’s Leading Economic Index increased in April, eclipsing the pre-Covid high. This suggests that the real economy remains strong. It’s key to note that activity in the real economy is not necessarily matched by movement in prices in the markets over the short term.

Recent volatility has centered around large moves in the cryptocurrency markets. Given the recent run-up in cryptocurrency prices, volatility, both positive and negative, should not be surprising.
